Download M9 Developer

M9 Developer is your on-device coding copilot! Installing M9 Developer is a two step process:

  1. Installing M9 inference engine - M9 Inference-at-Source engine is the backing highly optimized platform that run exclusively on your device and derives inferences from locally installed LLMs and by default M9 uses Llama 3.1 model. This engine is the backing platform which is used by M9 Developer VS Code extension. Once you have installed M9, the VS Code extension needs to be installed.
  2. Installing VS Code extension - The M9 Developer VS Code extension is the means by which M9 Developer's copilot capabilities are accessible. This VS Code extension uses M9 inference engine's interfaces to unlock the copilot's functionalities.

Step 1 - Installing M9 Platform

  1. Create an account with M9.
  2. From the M9 installation page download the desired flavor of M9 installer. (See above)
  3. Once download finishes, navigate to the directory where you downloaded the M9 Installer.
  4. Double-click the M9 Installer
  5. Accept the terms of conditions and sign in with your M9 account credentials
  6. Click 'Next' and the installer will start configuring M9.
  7. Once M9 is installed click on Finish.
  8. Move the M9 Platform to your Apps folder.
  9. Congratulations! M9 Platform is now installed on your Mac.

Step 2 - Installing the VS Code Extension

  1. Open VS Code IDE.
  2. Navigate to the extensions icon on the right panel.
  3. Search for M9 Developer extension.
  4. Hit the 'Install' button.
  5. You will see the M9 Developer icon on the right panel, go to the extension.
  6. You will be asked to sign in with your M9 credentials, please do so.
  7. Congratulations! M9 Developer extension is installed on your VS Code IDE and is ready to use.
